

James “Jim” Walter Ball, 82, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born in Mitchell, Indiana on October 30, 1942 to John and Minnie (Pipher) Ball. Jim worked for forty years at Central Foundry for General Motors, and was a member of Bloomington Eastview Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed being out in nature, and his favorite hobbies were gardening, camping, boating, and fishing. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Pruett) Ball and by his children Tim (Cindy) Ball, Tammy Decker, Tom (Gail) Ball, and Perry Ball; siblings Mildred (Larry) Henderson, and Ronnie Ball; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Deanna Lynnette Ball; and siblings Bonnie Calahan, Louise Williams, Ernest Ball, Charles Henry Ball, and Leon Ball.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25 at the Bloomington Eastview Church of the Nazarene 4545 E. Lampkins Ridge Rd., in Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm, and the funeral will be at 1pm, with Pastor Bruce Yates officiating
