Juanita was born on May 26, 1920 in Clear Creek, Indiana to Otto and Flossie Pink Deckard. She married Paul Bray, on December 21, 1937. The couple soon moved to Lafayette, Indiana where she maintained household care at the large family farm in which her husband ran. Both of their children were born while living in Lafayette.
Juanita and her husband moved to Knightridge in Bloomington while the children were very young. Spending most of her life on Knightridge, in their home of 73 years, Juanita was a wonderful homemaker with a heart of gold as she genuinely loved being a hostess to all who came to visit. She was a generous individual who was passionate with serving and sharing her faith with others. Paul and Juanita were quite the entrepreneurs, starting their own business, Bray’s Bait and Tackle after completion of Lake Monroe in 1965 until the early 1980’s. They both enjoyed camping and traveling and spent much of their early retirement traveling the western parts of the United States. She was an active and dedicated member of Burgoon Church in Bloomington.
