Kimberly Ann Harris, age 63, of Bloomington, passed away, Sunday, August 24, 2025 at her residence. Born April 22,1962 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Clyde Gray and Anna Doris (Dearring) Batson. Kimberly served in the U.S. Navy before moving back to Bloomington to teach Head Start classes for the South Central Community Action Program. She enjoyed coaching track and field to many children. She did have a direct effect on many children’s lives in Bloomington. She also enjoyed listening to music with one of her favorite music groups being Earth, Wind and Fire. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bloomington.
Kimberly is survived by her children, Idris Harris, of Bloomington and Basharaa Harris, of Denver, Colorado and her sister, Cherri Thornton, of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Dr. Bruce Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
