Lois Juanita Byrd

Lois J. Byrd of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 13, 2019 in Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Lois was born in Bloomington on March 13, 1929 the daughter of Willie E. and Edith M. (Elliott) Pate. Lois was a 1947 graduate of Bloomington High School. She married Clifford Byrd on June 12, 1947 in Bloomington. She worked for many years as a Deputy Auditor for Monroe County, retiring in 1990.
Surviving are her three children, Sherry (husband Alan) Dicer, Curtis (wife Jenny) Byrd and Tara (husband Monty) Clay. She is also survived by her two brothers, Donald Pate and Austin Pate, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Lois was very active in the Church of the Nazarene in both Bloomington and Orlando, FL. She was presently a member of Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene in Bedford.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McClean, VA or Premier Hospice, 11550 N. Meridian, Suite 375, Carmel, IN 46032.
Visitation for Lois will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, Indiana 47401. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastors Al Dicer and John Paulus. Burial will be in Valhalla memory Gardens.
