Mary Alice Hollars

Mary Alice (Mullis) Hollars, age 86, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the Bloomington Hospice House in Bloomington surrounded by her loving family. Born February 28, 1939 in Bloomington, Indiana to Howard and Dorothy (Russell) Mullis. Mary graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Hollars. They were married 65 years before his passing in 2021. She was employed by RCA in Bloomington for 35 years. Her passion was growing beautiful flowers. She could be found often in her many flower beds in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Bill Mullis.

Mary is survived by her sister, Brenda (Bill) Conder, brother, Rodney Mullis, one daughter Sherry (Mike) Baxter, one son, Rick (Denise) Hollars; four grandchildren, Shannon (Jason) Crouch, Kimberly Hollars, Cara (Zach) Hasty and Ryan (Melissa) Hollars and six great-grandchildren, Lynlee, Gwen, Gavin, Maddy, Kash and Maeve.

A gathering of family and friends for Mary will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Private entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
