BLOOMINGTON — Melinda “Linda” Houston Gillard, 51, of Bloomington, died at Bloomington Hospital, Tuesday, February 22, 2011.

Linda was born on April 12, 1959, in Bloomington, to John Thomas Sr. and Ruby Thomas (Shook) of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Eddie Houston; and brothers, John Thomas Jr. and Terry Thomas. Other family left to mourn her loss are three sisters, Lisa Ludy and Brenda Thomas, both of Bloomington, and Phyllis Chandler of Solsberry; five brothers, Gary Thomas, John Thomas III, Robert Thomas and Chet Thomas, all of Bloomington, and Dean Thomas of Martinsville; one daughter, Stephanie Thomas; two sons, Tyrone Thomas and Lucas Thomas, all of Bloomington; one grandson, ExCellent Jabrell Thomas of Bloomington; as well as several nieces and nephews.
