Phyllis Jeanine Rea

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Phyllis Rea, age 81, on Saturday August 2, 2025. Phyllis was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and godmother who brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Phyllis Rea was born on November 7 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a 1962 graduate of Mariemont High School in Cincinnati Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati for one semester. She was married to Thomas Brent McCormick for 24 years. She was married to Thomas R. Hamilton for 3 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy V. Rea and Lula Rea of Tollesboro, Kentucky, and her daughter Susan Rebecca McCormick. Her family also consisted of a brother, Bill Rea.

Phyllis was known for her positive energy, her big laugh, and enjoying music played by her family and friends.

Phyllis will be dearly missed by her children Stephanie Brogan, Robert McCormick (Kristin McCormick - spouse), and Jennifer McCormick (Vijay Sundaram - spouse), her grandchildren Alex Brogan and John Brogan, and goddaughter Seairah Delaney. Phyllis was a second mother to many of her children’s friends, and beloved by her many caregivers. The memories and love she shared will continue to brighten our lives.

A private ceremony will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests a donation to The Monroe County Humane Association in Phyllis’ memory.

We are grateful for the time we had with Phyllis and will forever carry her love in our hearts.
