Robert Richmond

Robert Richmond, age 88, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born March 19, 1935 in Holly Springs, Mississippi, he was the son of Ruby Richmond. Robert worked as a cement finisher. He attended the Second Baptist Church in Bloomington and was a member of the Elks Club on W. Seventh St. He enjoyed cooking and watching sports.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Stella M. (Morris) Richmond, of Bloomington; his children, Carolyn Richmond and Burnette Clark, both of Aurora, Illinois, Kevin (Marguerita) Marion, of St. Peters, Missouri, Diane (Larry) Shepherd, of Atlanta, Georgia, LeeCora Bowens, of Memphis, Tennessee, Clarence Arthur Alan, of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Robert Isom, of Elizabeth, Kentucky, Elvira Crittle, of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Doris (Daniel) Crane, of Solsberry, Indiana, Tyrone Morris, of Bloomington; two sisters, Mickey McKinney, of Holly Springs, Mississippi and Liddie Boyd, of Kansas City, Kansas, twenty-one grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Genice Wooten, one brother, Leroy Chapman and five sisters, Alberta Atkins, Roberta Richmond, Mattie Nunley, Johnnie Mae Nunley and Ruby Lee Nunley.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bruce Rose officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St.
