Robert “Kent” Swango, age 60, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence. Born December 10, 1963 in Bloomington, he was the son of Bob and Alice (Sullivan) Swango. Kent worked as a truck driver for Dean Foods and later for American Rental. He loved watching NASCAR auto races, I.U. sports and Bloomington High School South football, basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He played softball and bowled for many years. He had attended Fairview United Methodist Church.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Ellington) Swango, of Bloomington, one son, Kevin (wife-Kristen) Swango, of Bloomington and one step-son, Brandon (companion-Brandis Young) Panganiban, of Bloomington.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kevin Swango.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 22 at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
