

It is with heavy but joyous heart our beloved mother, grandmother and Aunt Ruby Glodyne Anderson passed to her eternal home on Monday June 9, 2025. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on January 15, 1931, to parents James and Lula Payne. She has been a lifelong resident seeing many changes.
She married Richard W. Anderson, and they had three children: son Douglas Anderson and daughters LeAnna Beth Anderson and Shirley (Raymond) Hankins and Daughter-in-Law Carole Lynn Anderson. Glodyne had six grandchildren: Jeremy (Wendy) Hankins, Joshua (Emily) Hankins, Jared (Natalie) Hankins, Shannon (Mike) Jones, Michelle (Scott) Rotert, and Nathan (Emily) Anderson. She also had ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Ruby had four siblings: Cecil and Carl Richard Payne, Annalee Chafin, and Esther McAuley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Cecil, sister Annalee, son Douglas, and daughter LeAnna.
Ruby’s faith guided her through her life. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church and was active in both Bible studies and prayer circles.
Ruby had many hobbies in life. She enjoyed sewing, China painting, gardening, cooking but most of all spending time with family and her friends.
Visitation for Ruby will be held on Sunday June 15, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral home located at 4150 E 3rd Street Bloomington, IN 47401. A visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday June 16, 2025, and funeral services will be held at 11:00am at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens located at 310 N Johnson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404.
The family asks in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ruby’s memory to the New Prospect Baptist Church at 6055 Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47408.
