

cancer. Born on December 6, 1970, in Evansville, Indiana, Shane was a devoted and
faithful individual, known for his empathy and love for others.
Shane graduated from North Posey High School class of 1989 where he ran cross
country. He later pursued his higher education at Purdue University. It was during his
time in pharmacy school that he met Andrea (Pugh). They married on July 17, 1993.
Together, they shared 32 years of marriage and raised two children, Whitney and Drake.
Shane was a loving and devoted husband and father.
Shane was the cherished son of the late Jack and Diana Wenderoth of Wadesville,
Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Andrea and his children, Whitney and Drake. He is
also survived by his brother David (Tracy) Wenderoth of Murray, Kentucky, and his
sister Bobbie (Bill) Christie of Cynthiana, Indiana. He also leaves behind his sister-inlaw
Heidi (Pugh) Hendricks of Bloomington, Indiana, and brother-in-law Monte (Robin)
Pugh of Apopka, Florida.
Shane was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Carole Wenderoth,
father and mother-in-law Dan and Connie Pugh and brothers-in-law Joel Pugh and Rob
Hendricks. He is also remembered by his numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles
and cousins.
Known for his witty sense of humor and as a prankster, Shane enjoyed making people
laugh. His strong faith and love for God were central to his life. He was an avid sports
fan and a sports trivia buff. Shane also enjoyed family vacations to the beach and
cherished playing board games and spending time with his family. Shanes ability to
show kindness and empathy to others and his always upbeat nature was loving referred
to as “The Wenderoth Charm”.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, located at 4150 E 3rd St, Bloomington, Indiana,
47401. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will commence at
3:00 pm at the same venue with Pastor Cory Joy officiating.
Shane's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love,
humor, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
