Later they moved to 76th Street. Mothering 4 kids and all their activities was her life. Even when times were tight, she made a PARTY out of small things which everyone loved! The family attended Green Lake Presbyterian Church.
Edna had a vision for helping and loving people and pointing them to Jesus. The Sonshine Senior Club was a Church ministry she started with Pastor Bob Bonner to help, encourage, and love seniors in the area. It was a monthly good, hot meal plus a special speaker and musical entertainment. Seniors looked forward to coming every month.
She also knew there was a real need for families seeking Christian childcare. A safe and fun place for children to learn about God’s world. A new Church ministry was formed Green Lake Christian Daycare and Preschool. More than 300 children with their families were helped through the years.
Her love for knitting covered her family and friends with sweaters, scarves, hats, and baby blankets. She knitted tiny baby hats for Children’s Orthopedic Hospital. And BIGGER hats for the Union Gospel Mission and Veterans Organizations to keep people warm. She even had a knitting club at Brookdale. She carried yarn and needles with her and kept on knitting!
In later years, they moved to Lynnwood and worshipped at Shoreline Christian Reformed Church.
Due to health issues with Joe, they moved to Washington Oakes Assisted Living in Everett in 2020. When more care was needed for him, they moved to Brookdale, Everett. She lovingly cared for him all their 66 years together. He met Jesus, February 12th, 2024 and she anxiously awaited her turn.
