

Gayle Louise (Stott) Kennedy, 73, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Vineyard Park at Bothell Landing, in Bothell. She was born June 14, 1950 in Renton, Washington and graduated from Renton High School in 1968. She attended WSU in Pullman, WA for two years, and then went to work at PayNSave.
The Rainier Beach store opened just before Christmas 1972 and she was among the first group of employees hired. While working there, she met another employee, Earl W. Kennedy, and they were married at Lakeridge Lutheran Church in Renton, on February 17, 1973.
During their 32-year marriage, children Kevin, Kyle, and Janelle were born in Petaluma, CA, Bellingham, WA, and Seattle, WA, respectively.
Gayle worked for the Highline School District at Olympic Elementary School (now defunct) and at Madrona Elementary School as a paraprofessional. She was employed by The Port of Seattle at SeaTac Airport at Alaska Airlines as a Mileage Plan Support Specialist, and at an airport retail store. She worked in Airport Security (n.k.a. a TSA Agent), through a temporary agency.
In 2005, Gayle earned an Associate’s Degree in Medical Transcription at Highline Community College (n.k.a. Highline College).
Survivors include her mother, Agnes Louise “Louise” (Hanson) Buchanan of Brettonwood Adult Family Home in Bellevue, WA; her father Glenn Gayle (Jan) Stott, of Arlington, WA; her sister Kathleen “Kathy” (Ron) Hulen of Redmond, WA; her ex-husband Earl W. Kennedy of Marysville, WA, and their children Kevin A. Kennedy of Richland, WA, Kyle W. (Nicole) Kennedy of Mukilteo, WA, and Janelle G. (Keith) Everson of Shelton, WA. Her grandchildren include Austin, Shaelynn, Cameron, Madeline, Makayla, Draven, and Lincoln, all surviving.
She dearly loved owning and caring for her pets, especially Tiki, JoJo, Tyler, CoCo, and Tara.
No memorial service will be held. She will be cremated, and her remains will rest in Shelton, WA with her daughter, Janelle, and family.
