Gerald Fred Nohr

Gerald Fred Nohr went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28th, 2021, at the age of 86. Gerry was born on October 12, 1935, to the late Fred and Lilian Stanhope Nohr on their farm in Cass County, North Dakota. He was the second oldest of ten children. Gerry loved his country and was always very proud of the time he served in the U.S. Navy. During his service, he managed and maintained a Flightline of Grumman F2 tracker aircraft. When Gerry had completed his service in the United States Navy, he returned home to marry the love of his life, Janice Axtman. He had met Jan during military leave. She was a roommate of his younger sister Laura. Their first date was attending a dance at the Crystal Ballroom in Fargo, North Dakota, and from that moment until she passed in 2018, they never stopped dancing. Affectionately known as Papa by his grandchildren, Gerry was a hands-on and devoted presence in their lives. Attending sporting events, teaching them to fish, or even helping with homework, Papa’s love for his grandchildren was unwavering and is enduring. Gerry retired from Ford motor company in 1998, but perhaps his true life’s work was dedicating his time, resources, and service to numerous charitable, civic, and church activities. He loved to serve others locally, from repairing their cars to helping to create the CYO Basketball program at St Brendan’s. He and his wife were active St Brendan Parish members for over 55 years.

He is survived and will be significantly missed by his four children Keven Nohr and his wife Barbara, Alan Nohr and his wife Sha, Steven Nohr and his wife Mint, Bryan Nohr and his wife Leslie, and of course, all of those that called him Papa.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 at St. Brendan Catholic Church, located at 10051 NE 195th, Bothell, Washington 98011 An online viewing for the service will also be available on St Brendan Catholic Church of Bothell's Facebook page.
