It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maxine "Max" Wise, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Max was born on September 20, 1947, and passed away peacefully at Swedish Hospital on November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Maxine was known for her exceptional warmth, kindness, and the welcoming spirit she extended to everyone she met. Her gentle stubbornness only added to her charm, reflecting a lifetime of strength, resilience, and unwavering love. Of all her accomplishments, she treasured most her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother—a role she embraced with pride and joy.
Maxine was predeceased by her adoring husband, Robert "Bob" Wise. She was also predeceased by her loving parents, Betty Poulos and Max Wadum, and her step-father, Bill Poulos. Though their absence is deeply felt, there is comfort in knowing they are reunited once again. Maxine’s memory will forever live on through her children: Solveig Lewis, Kris Gray, and Jake Gray.
Maxine also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Hayley Muir, Mackenzie Gray, Morgan Hunt, Dakota Gray, Dylan Gray, Jacob Gray, Aaliyah Chantharangsy, Avery Chantharangsy and Ryker Lewis. She is also survived by her many great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life. The love she had for them was immeasurable and they will carry forward her lessons of compassion, acceptance, and welcoming others with open arms.
A memorial service in honor of Maxine's life will be held on December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM-4:00PM at Lifetime Celebrations By Washelli, 18224 103rd Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011, where family and friends may gather to share stories and pay their respects. The family would like to mention that in lieu of sending flowers, a fund has been set up to donate to the Lynnwood Food Bank in Maxine’s memory. If you feel moved to contribute, you may do so at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of… but your presence, love & prayers are more than enough.
Maxine's immense compassion, her unwavering love for her family, and her lifelong lessons of kindness and acceptance will be sorely missed. She has left a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit and her teachings will live on through the lives she touched.
