Aidan was born on August 19, 1992, to Lisa Ledesma and Jeffrey R. Elder. He spent much of his childhood in the Arvada and Westminster areas, living with his father and grandmother. He attended Stanley Lake High School, when he met Charlotte, the mother of his son. As young adults, they welcomed their son, Asher, into the world. Though their relationship evolved over time, Aidan and Charlotte remained committed to a strong friendship and co-parenting partnership.
Aidan spent much of his early adulthood living with his father and grandmother, working hard to build a better future for himself and his son. He was determined to grow, and he successfully completed his education at Lincoln Automotive School of Technology, becoming a skilled mechanic. Following the passing of his beloved grandmother, with whom he shared a special bond, Aidan moved to Fort Collins to begin a new chapter in his life.
Aidan truly thrived working with his hands. He built a successful career as a mechanic and was recognized as a top Toyota technician while working in both Greeley and Fort Collins. Most recently, he was employed at All Tech Automotive, where he was deeply valued for his skill, dedication, and expertise. He was always willing to help others, whether troubleshooting a problem, making a repair, or offering advice, often putting the needs of friends and family before his own.
In his younger years, Aidan enjoyed video games, Star Wars collectibles, and movies. As his interests grew, he developed a passion for hydroponics, plant life, and caring for fish, maintaining impressive aquariums. In Fort Collins, he became a proud and enthusiastic keeper of jumping spiders, often sharing his love for his “spoods” with others.
Aidan’s grandmother passed down words of wisdom that he carried with him and strived to embrace: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” — Vivian Greene
Above all else, Aidan’s greatest purpose in life was being a father. He loved Asher deeply and worked tirelessly to provide for him and be the best father he could be. Aidan had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room. He will be deeply missed as a son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Aidan is survived by his son, Asher Elder; his mother, Lisa Ledesma; his father, Jeffrey Elder (Lisa); his sisters, Gwendolyn Leidy (Craig) and Violet Elder; his maternal grandparents, Tonia Hulm (Gene), Joseph Ledesma; his stepsiblings, Haylee Downey, Leah Downey, and Caiden Ward; his aunts, Lorna (Will) and Lorrie Martinez (Gerald); his nieces Julia and Lanah Leidy, and many cousins, extended family, and friends.
