

Charles P. Pancost of Boulder, formerly of Watkins, CO passed away on September 22, 2010 in Greeley, CO of natural causes. He was born to Ira Leo Pancost and Helen Celia (Hogan) Pancost in Boulder on December 15, 1936.
Charles attended Sacred Heart of Jesus through 10th grade and then started Boulder Valley Dry Wall and Pancost Ranches. He was also a lifetime member of the United States Team Penning Association, American Quarter Horse Association, and Sacred Heart of Jesus.
In June 1956, Chuck married the love of his life, Jeannette Trader where together they spent years in Boulder raising four children in the house Chuck built with his own hands. Right out of school, Chuck started Boulder Valley Drywall which he later sold to his brother Edward, when he decided to start his true passion of ranching. Chuck leased the Lowery State Bombing ground South of Watkins where he was for 32 years. On the wide open prairie he was able to see his cattle roam free and his beautiful horses running wild. He was fortunate to raise and provide for his 3 sons and daughter along with 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren teaching them the life of ranching. Chuck enjoyed all aspects of ranching and riding competing in team roping and team penning around the country with his family and many friends. In 2007 Chuck moved his operation to Stoneham, CO where he lived his last wonderful years. Now he is resting in peace with his mother Helen and his Uncle Ed, who meant the world to Chuck. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and cousin.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Boulder; children, Chuck A Pancost, David W (Teri) Pancost (Stoneham), Larry M (Carol) Pancost (Ft Lupton), Tracey L Starrett-Pancost (Boulder); siblings, Bonnie L Kupfner (Boulder), Edward L Pancost (Boulder); Grandchildren, LJ (Kristi) Pancost (Twin Bridges Montana), Jackie (Hank) Bevan (Twin Bridges Montana), Jake Pancost (Twin Bridges Montana), Katie Pancost (Windsor), Janie Pancost (Ft Lupton), Angie Pancost (Windsor), Jessica and Lyndsey Pancost (Milliken CO), JR and Madi Starrett (Boulder CO); great-Grandchildren; Tyler and Kyle Pancost (Twin Bridges Montana). Charles is preceded in death by hi s mother, Helen; father, Ira; babysister, Helen Josephine Pancost; and son- in- law, Troy Starrett.
A visitation and rosary will be held on Sunday September 26, 2010, 6:00pm at Sacred Heart of Mary, 6739 S Boulder Rd., Boulder, CO. A service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Sacred Heart of Jesus, 1317 Mapleton Ave., Boulder, CO. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to JR and Madi Starrett at Crist Mortuary 3395 Penrose Place Boulder CO 80301. Arrangements entrusted to Crist Mortuary.
