Clark Albert Misner died peacefully on November 21st, 2015 in Firestone, CO at the age of 69 at his home, surrounded by his family. Clark is survived by his wife, Debbie of 28 years and his children Christopher Misner (Fort Collins, CO), Matthew Misner and wife Amanda (Delanson, NY), Chris Jensen and wife Jennifer (Commerce City, CO) and Carey Jensen (Firestone, CO), nephews Scot and Brook Williams, and grandchildren Elvin, Elizabeth, Alec, Dylan, Derek and Malachi. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Charles Misner, sister Bonnie Nelson, and his son David Misner.
He was born in Longmont, CO on May 1st, 1946 to Wilbur Misner and Elizabeth (Robinson) Misner. Clark graduated from Boulder HS in 1964, later taking a job with Boulder County as the County engineering technician in 1968. Through a career with the county spanning nearly 40 years, he retired in 2007 as Transportation Director after leaving his mark across the county in the bridges, roads, parks, open spaces, scenic trails, and other county programs, as well as building many friendships and touching many people’s lives. He became a Circle of Honor member with Boulder County in 1986 due to his dedication to the community.
Clark was an avid golfer, a USGA member, a long time Coal Creek Miners Club and Boulder City-Country Golf League member. He loved playing golf across Colorado and the rest of the country, while also taking time to build golf clubs and teaching the game to his son and grandsons. Clark loved the outdoors and as a family man he loved fishing (a family “Wanna Butte” fishing contest winner), camping, riding to the mountains, brewing beer with family and friends, coaching little league, and playing and watching baseball. He loved a family sing along while he played his guitars. He loved taking train trips across and around Colorado. Always seeking new adventures, he was able to take a glider ride and a hot air balloon ride in the last few years. He loved to travel around the country and found “nice places to visit”, but his heart was in Colorado. Clark never passed up the opportunity to make a new friend or spend time teaching us how to laugh.
Services will be held on Friday, November 27th, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church at 3245 Kalmia Ave, Boulder, CO.
