

Deloris passed away on March 24, 2011 in Evergreen, CO. She was born June 6, 1919 on a farm near Bremen, KS to Adolph and Wilhemina Stohs. She was the fourth of five sisters and grew up speaking mostly German in the home, being the daughter of first generation immigrants. She met the love of her life, Walter Nienaber, just prior to his leaving for World War II and their love was cemented in the many letters they exchanged during the war. They married April 21st, 1946 upon his return and settled in Beatrice, NE. In 1959, the Nienabers moved with their three children to Boulder, CO. Deloris and Walter lived a very fruitful and meaningful life, instilling strong faith in their children and becoming good friends to all in their church.
Deloris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter. She is survived by son James (Sandy) Nienaber of Evergreen, CO, and daughters Janet (Larry) Sprague of Clovis, NM and Nancy (Rob) Livingston of Lone Tree, CO. She is also survived by grandchildren Walter Sprague of Clovis, NM, Martin (Suzanne) Sprague of Honolulu, HI, and Kelsey Livingston of Lone Tree, CO. Great-grandchildren are Jack Sprague of Clovis, NM and Hannah and Henry Sprague of Honolulu, HI.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 1 at 10:30 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Boulder. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Dr East, Lafayette, CO 80026 or Atonement Lutheran Church, 685 Inca Pkwy, Boulder, CO 80303.
