Dolores Sally Brill

Dolores Brill, age 76, of San Rafael, CA passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Dolores grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. Her father built their home, and the whole family worked on their farm. Dolores was a bright student and well-liked. Her favorite subjects were literature and creative writing. At age 19 Dolores married and moved to California. She missed her parents, especially her mother’s delicious Jewish cooking, but much enjoyed the warm California weather. She was always a devoted daughter and called her parents every week for 40 years.

Dolores was a caring mother. She invested much time and effort taking her daughters to lessons after school to explore art, dance, ice skating, and more. Dolores loved desserts, especially chocolate, but hated exercising. She used to say that shopping was a good workout. Although Dolores was afraid of the water, she made sure her children had private swimming lessons so they would be safe to enjoy the pools and ocean. She took great pride in her children’s achievements and for getting a college education. Dolores did not have an easy life after the divorce, but she met Steven, a devoted partner who loved her very much. Her fondness for baking desserts was passed down to her children and grandchildren. Dolores had some health issues in the last decade and had been in a slow decline.

Her family and friends will always remember her determination, warm hugs, and kind heart. We will all miss Dolores.

Dolores is survived by; sister Annette Feldblum; daughter Karen Miller; daughter Lenore Wadman; daughter Rachel Brill; and grandchildren Daniella Miller Baklor, Sivan Benji, Brett Wadman and Grant Wadman.

Karen will sit shiva on Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14 at 770 Racquet Lane, Boulder, CO 80303. The Shiva minyan will start at 7:00 PM on both evenings.
