Kathleen was born in Detroit Michigan on July 7, 1937 to Tony and Micki Hutchison. She attended Lillibridge school In one of the tougher working class neighborhoods in Detroit. Her Father worked toilsomely in the auto industry, saving enough money to move the family to the outskirts of Grosse Point where Kathleen attended Grosse Pointe High. It is at GPH that Kathleen met her best friend, Dottie. Dottie and Kathleen became fast friends and remained friends their entire lives. Dottie introduced Kathleen to Frank, Kathleen’s future husband
Frank and Kathleen married, Kathleen soon began referring to herself as Kathy, becoming the mother of two children, Frank the third(Trey) and Dorothy(Dory.) Frank, Kathy and their kids moved frequently throughout Michigan along with a year in Florida. Frank and Kathy divorced in the seventies. Kathy and her two children moved to Boulder, Colorado to be closer to Kathy’s younger sister Judy and her family.
Kathy soon started going by Kate, taking on the role of a working, single mother. Kate worked at Ball Aerospace in Boulder for twenty five years where she supported the top aerospace executives. She was proud of her job and loved working alongside engineers and scientists. Kate worked at Ball Aerospace until she retired in her early sixties.
Upon retirement, Kate followed her dream of moving to Taos. Kate bought a perfect casita where she listened to the church bells every morning. Kate loved Taos, the characters, the artist, the pinon in the air. Kate stayed in Taos for several years before moving back to Boulder to be closer to family.
Back in Boulder, Kate added an addition to her family, Henry. Henry was Kate’s best friend, an Afghan hound who shared the couch with her nightly. Henry and Kate shared many adventures together until Henry died at the age of fifteen.
Kathleen, Kathy, Kate, will be missed dearly by her family, and the many friends and people she touched throughout her life.
