We lost Duke recently and he will be our last dog.  Like Denver before him, he was wonderful, and Becky's kindness and generosity enriched our lives.  May she continue to rest in peace surrounded by the souls of the special Goldens she shared with us.  We will share Denver and Duke with her one day.

I am truly heartbroken to find out that Becky had passed away.  She was a kind & compassionate human being.   My puppy Hunter who has now passed too was from Becky.

Watching the National Dog Show with our 12 year old Duke that Becky gifted us after his uncle Denver passed at 6.   I missed the anniversary of her passing, but her memory is always with us.  Hope the family enjoys Thanksgiving today as we give thanks to Becky.

We always think of Becky and remember her warm caring manner. Leila, now 5 has been a beautiful addition to our long line of Goldens.  We adopted Leila's mom Sabrina when Becky generously gifted us with her after many beautiful litters .  .Sabrina passed away  but Leila lives on in Becky's memory.

I remember Becky every day. Finnegan, her beautiful boy, and his best friend, Teagan, make sure of that! I'll never forget her putting a big ball of fluff into my arms and asking, "Why in the world would you want one of my 80-pound boys?" We laughed about having goldens for the next 15 years. Finnegan was born 5 months before Becky died. He is both a gift and a reminder.

I'm writing a second message so that I can include a photo of Teagan at Coot Lake. Becky said she wanted me to have Teagan because she looked the most like her mother, Boston Tea Party, who was bred by Becky's dear friend Terri Anderson. Teagan has been the perfect dog, from the moment she figured out the stairs until now. We miss you, Becky. 

I remember Becky as being so devoted to the Golden Retriever  breed.  She did everything to do what was best for the breed.  She bred for disposition well as confirmation.  My dog Daisy is the  most loving and beautiful dog I have ever owned. My special memory of her is that she personally coached me through the early puppy days as I had not raised a dog for over 10 years.  Her guidance and words of love and kindness were so inspirational.  She was truly a special person. I miss you! 

As I watch Duke eat his afternoon treat, I thank you again for the joy you brought to us with Denver and now Duke.  You will never be forgotten.  Rest In Peace Becky.

I am heartbroken to hear of Becky's passing. In 2013 I visited her ranch to meet the newest litter of puppies. She was grooming an older puppy that she had kept for herself, named Buster at the time, and I fell in love with him. After some convincing, she called me a few days later and decided that I could have him. His name is now Ted and he has been the best companion the past 7 years. Ted loves to swim, adores children and he gets compliments from strangers every single day on our walks. He even makes an annual Christmas card and two years in a row it was featured on national news. 
I am so grateful to have met Becky and to have one of her beautiful goldens in my life. My heart goes out to her family for their tremendous loss. 

I was looking for Becky’s phone number for a friend who is looking for a golden puppy and was so sad to see the news about Becky.  Our Samantha has been such a blessing to us and Becky was so incredible 8 years ago when she gave us our little fur ball.  Everyone who has been fortunate enough to receive a puppy from Becky, knows how special they are.  Many times people we would encounter with Samantha would say, “you got her from Red Dog, right”.  Becky was know for her incredible Golden's and she will be truly missed.  

Becky was my third grade teacher, and she helped make my elementary education magical. She introduced her students to some of her animals, instilling a love and respect for all life. She encouraged a genuine love of reading by holding occasional "reading days," allowing students to bring books, snacks and pillows and spend lesson time lounging around the classroom, becoming immersed in our favorite books. She really challenged me in math for the first time. And she made each of us feel valued and smart, celebrating our mastery of multiplication tables by taking us out, one by one throughout the year, for ice cream. 20 years later, I remember how she went above and beyond for her students. I was wondering about her recently, and am so sad to learn that I cannot thank her. What an amazing woman! She has left a lasting impression on me. 

My sincerest condolences to the Hayes family & friends! So saddened to hear about the passing of Becky. We got our golden, Parker from her and he has been the best addition to our family. He’s so handsome and gets compliments on his looks and temperament all of the time, a true reflection of where we got him from. In fact earlier last year I took Parker with me to go see Becky and the other dogs and she wanted to keep him!  Becky was such a kind, nice and caring lady and you could that see that through her love of animals! 

I just went online to see if Becky had any current litters and was shocked and so saddened to see her passing. We got our most recent Golden, Boomer from Becky 3 years ago. He is such a wonderful dog and we are so grateful to have him in our life. 
When I first reached out to Becky about getting a new puppy after the passing of our 16 year old Golden Dudley she was so caring and supportive. We must have spent close to a hour on the phone.
If her family is reading these memory’s please know that she gave so much love to so many.

We were sorry to hear of Becky’s passing.  She brought so much joy to so many families with her wonderful Golden Retrievers.  We were blessed with one sweet pup named Roxy who has been a beloved family member for 9 years now.   May it comfort you to know how Becky impacted so many people in such a wonderful way. 

Regrets to hear such sad news. Becky picking out Goldie for me drastically changed my life and is largely responsible for me being alive today. Earning 12 titles within two years, Goldie's most recent was Champion Trick Dog (TDCH) - only the 30th Golden world-wide to do so. Thanks, Becky for encouraging us along the way as Goldie and I went through many challenges. Rest in Peace. You saved a combat vet.

Four  wonderful goldens  came into our household over the years from her Reddog Kennel.
Becky  always had a wonderful perspective on her puppies and matched them to our household. 
Now from one of her  recent litters, another amazing  puppy is with us. We have named him Hayes in her memory. He is 10 weeks old and born 2 weeks before she passed.

I was so saddened to hear of our friend and breeder Becky passing. When we lost our Golden Liam from heart trouble nearly seven years ago, I Metz Becky on line. We went to her kennels only to be greeted by 12 puppies born 12/12/12.. From that litter we took home our beautiful Barkley, my joy. A year and a half ago we got Dalton another bundle of love from Becky. These two boys are the absolute best and I thank Becky for breeding such a wonderful pair. 
Becky was a kind and loving person, I’ll never forget sitting in the pen in Boulder with 12 golden puppies all over me. Certainly a highlight of my life. 
Becky my your kind heart and soul rest in piece, we will certainly miss talking to you and . Every time we pet our boys I’ll think of you and your beautiful ranch and setting in Boulder...

A while ago, I witnessed something I never thought I'd see again.  My father recognized our Golden Retriever, Riley.  

Dad lived in a memory care unit of a nursing home, adapting to his new reality that is Alzheimer's.  He didn't always remember his family, but for the first time in a year, he remembered Riley.

Riley came to us through Becky who devoted her energy to raising a beautiful, sensitive, and adorable boy,  She had reserved Riley and his sister Abby when they were born, but instead, when she heard about my father's declining mental health, she willingly adopted our big, beautiful boy to us.  Abby was adopted by my brother at the same time.

But here's what I want everyone to know:  If you knew Becky, you know she deeply loved her work, her family, and her Golden's.  She cared about every pet parent, every furry friend.  

She loved Riley and Abby.  I witnessed that love the day she carefully groomed the puppies for the last time, rubbing their cotton-fluff tummies, cleaning their puppy faces, touching their paddle paws with a soft caress.  Then, without looking back, Becky entrusted her dogs to my brother and I by handing the leash to us and into our care.  I saw her love again when she pressed Riley's ball into my hand and said to me:  "Here's his ball.  He's had it since he was born.  He'll want it."

What does all of this mean to Becky's legacy this side of heaven?  It means that aged hands that may not know how to hold a fork or spoon anymore, know the touch of Riley's fur.  It means a day where they remember their own dogs of their youth.  It means a day of meaning for them in an existence of murky dementia. They cuddle him, love him, and talk to him.  His work with Alzheimer's patients is enduring and lingering.  It is amazing to behold.

Becky will never be forgotten.  We see her in the soft eyes of our beautiful dogs.  We see her in the hope that her dogs bring to others who have little hope.  

We will remember you, Becky.  Always.



This is the light of my life and thanks to Becky I have him.  After losing two Golden litter mates I had for 11 and 14 yrs I swore, no more dogs. These dogs came from Mile High Golden Retriever Society.  I then saw one of Becky’s dogs about 6 weeks after losing my last Golden, well there he is, Midas. It was Becky’s first  Midas, she told me when we picked him up on Christmas Eve.  Becky made beautiful puppies and she was so very kind, spending hours with me while I decided which little boy I would be taking home.   She even told me the breed of the dog I had adopted from the humane society I brought with me to be sure he was ok with a puppy.  Becky watched carefully as they all met and smelled each other, she assured me there would be no problems. There hasn’t been.  I am so sorry I will not be able to see Becky again to adopt another beautiful puppy.  I am sure her family is aware of the hole in the universe that occurred when Becky left us, I pray they have peace and healing for their loss.

The beautiful legacy that Becky has left lives within each of us who have had the privilege of knowing her and her lovely dogs.  Our Stevie Nicks, now age six, has brought joy, comfort and education to  children who have read books to her in the Boulder R.E.A.D. program.  We think of the love and trust and care that Becky provided to her amazing Goldens and through each one a web of love flowing out in so many directions.  
Compassionate and comforting thoughts flow from my family to the family of Becky.  May every thought of Becky bring happiness for years to come as we remember her.

Yes I too had a Becky Hayes dog in the south Boulder neighborhood. Honey was my first dog ever, and I will always miss her.  I cherished the time I got to share her with my daughter and important significant other at the time. (who had many Becky Hayes dogs). 

Becky did return my calls when I phoned her about the sudden death of our dog, Honey. Thank you.

I am incredibly saddened to hear this news. I have so wanted over the years to bring our sweet dog, Anchor over to see Becky and his birthplace. Anchor has been one of my greatest joys and a dog that I will never replace. At 8 years old, he is still the kindest, mellowest, most handsome dog and best friend anyone could ever ask for. 
I treasure you, Becky and the wonderful job you did to breed these amazing pups.

To Greg & to each of everyone of your loved ones.  Please accept  our deepest and most heartfelt condolences  at this utmost sad time of grief. We’d give all that we possess, to not only give her more time on this earth - but we’d even  give the invaluable gift to give  you just an entire day to have her back with you  all. We’ll forever treasure the first time we met Bum, who sired our beloved Skylar @ Caffe Sole on the West side of the Table Mesa shopping center. After loving on the most handsome Bum, we walked into the coffee shop & asked who was the owner ? Since we were looking for a Golden, our hearts were filled with so much joy to hear Becky tell us that she owned Bum & that Rosie, who was Skylar’s puppy mama
 had just given birth to a litter  of beautiful puppies which included Skylar. When we sadly lost Skylar to internal Hemangioma Sarcoma  @ 6yrs of age. Once we were able to accept & process his passing. We called her to let to her know that our beloved Skylar had crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She told us she’d just welcomed a litter. She so graciously let us know that she would allow us to pay for the male, Haydyn,  that she was going to keep for herself. It was a true bittersweet moment, to bring him home one week exactly from Skylar’s passing. We were blessed to have him in our life for 9yrs, after nurturing him through Bone cancer for 6mnths. 
By that time, we were living in the suburbs of Portland, OR. Therefore, we chose to purchase our current 3yr old Golden, in the Pac N.W. To this day & until the day I transition from the  earth. I have the remains of both Skylar & Haydyn underneath my side of the bed. Becky, will forever be a  gift in our lives because she not only was the treasured breeder of our first two fur-babies but she was a true gem of a person to know. Nothing but hugs of support & comfort to ALL of you and your loved ones, Jennifer & Brian 




I have many warm and happy memories of Becky. She and I jumped into showing Goldens around the same time, thanks to the encouragement of our friend Terri.  Becky and I spent many evenings at the show sites with Pinkie and Chance. It was great fun to ride our wins together and to cheer for Pinkie’s incredible career.    Becky was so generous to all, she cheered for my boy as passionately as  her own.  We learned a lot together about showing and breeding these great dogs.  What I loved most about Becky was her love and compassion for all, dogs and people alike.  She adored her boys and her family always was foremost in her mind.  Her dogs... well she loved them all so much and brought many wonderful pups into the world that have brought so much joy.  It’s shocking to think that Becky is no longer with us.  I’ll always remember Becky with love and warmth.   I’m  sure that her love and light are shining in heaven and she’s reunited with family, friends and the pups that went before!  Blessings to her family. She was a lovely lady.

Such incredibly sad news to hear about Becky's passing.  She will be greatly missed by her family, our community, and the Golden Retriever lovers who share a life with one of her amazing dogs. I was one of the lucky ones.  My sweet Jolie was a therapy dog and together we volunteered at several hospitals and schools.  

For deades Becky was an elementary school teacher and our children were fortunate to have had her as their teacher.  She would often bring some of her exotic animals to the classroom for the children to hold or cuddle and learn about -- even a baby mountain lion! So special.

Becky lived a life of service, compassion and love for people and animals alike.  I know I will be reminded of her whenever I'm hiking in the Boulder foothills and I pass someone with a familiar looking dog and I ask as I often have before,  "Is that a Becky Hayes dog?"



A great sadness filled my body when I heard of Becky's passing.  Becky was my youngest, Morgan's, third grade teacher. She took such care, compassion and love with each of her students including mine. She made it her mission to have each student excel. I was fortunate enough to work in her classroom and got to know her well.  Every day she greeted the students with a smile and excitement for them to learn.  When Morgan moved to another grade level I saw Becky many times and no mater her schedule she always stopped to chat and catch up. What a loss to this community.  I hope she is running the a field of flowers with all her dogs. She loved them so.

We only met Becky briefly when we last minute got in touch with her about a female puppy she had available. Becky was so warm and kind. It felt like I’d known her for much longer. She gave us our sweet Millie. The amazing dog Millie is shows how much Becky cared and loved her Goldens. I am so thankful for that. Becky will always hold a special place in our heart. 

We were so sad to hear of Becky's passing and send our condolences to her family and friends. 

Meeting Becky through her/our dogs; Shackleton and Roary, we felt so fortunate to get to know this lovely lady over many years.  We so appreciated her mastery with the Golden Retriever breed and her kindness.  
For creating a bit of heaven on earth for us in the company of these beautiful and sweet dogs, I have no doubt Becky is eternally in a heavenly place.  Rest in peace, Becky.

We have been blessed with Sunflower Meadow "Sunny" for 4 1/2 years. We chose Becky because of her outstanding reputation for having goldens with wonderful temperaments. We knew that we wanted to do therapy work with our golden someday. We have now been a member of Alliance of Therapy dogs and the Caring Canines program at Good Samaritan Hospital for  1 1/2 years and Sunny has brought countless smiles and comfort to so many patients, visitors and staff members. We will never forget you and will always feel blessed and honored to have a "Hayes Dog." May she rest in peace in the Golden light of heaven. 

Saddened by the  news  of Becky's recent passing , I wanted to share  my thoughts and send condolences to her loved ones. 
I knew Becky  for only 16 months..having met her after adopting a beautiful Golden Retriever who no longer would  be bred. Becky's generosity, warmth, intelligence, ebullience  and passion for what she ' s loved doing for so long was palpable and infectious.  Becky offered to rehab our precious Sabrina after surgery and continued to demonstrate her  dedication  for providing the best of care to her dogs and their owners.  We also purchased Sabrina's last pup...and have been blessed with a mom and her kiddo..I feel so fortunate to have known Becky....and I know that so many folk like me  and pets like mine ,were fortunate to have been a part of her life.. May her memory be a blessing. Thank you Becky  for being a part of our lives...

I have known Becky Hayes for only three years. Since losing her, I have heard from former students and colleagues at Heatherwood Elementary School, veterinarians, friends and neighbors with "Becky dogs," groomers, employees at local businesses, students at CU, and others. I wish I could have even half the impact on others that Becky had during her all-too-short time on this earth. One of her friends at Heatherwood said Becky "made everyone she met feel like a million dollars." She certainly made me feel special, and I sought her out in person and by phone whenever I could. I think of Becky daily and celebrate her life when I look at Teagan and Finnegan, the two dogs I bought from her, and Riley and Aspen, the two dogs from Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, whom she loved. As Kris, my next-door neighbor, said, "Becky was an earth angel." If dogs are running in the sunshine, Becky is there.
