

Terry was born in Yankton, S.D. March 19, 1949, to Arbutus Laage and Robert Porter. He lived in South Dakota before moving to Colorado in 1959 at the age of 10. After attending school in Boulder, he enlisted in the Navy. He did his basic training at Camp Pendleton in Sad Diego. He was deployed to Viet Nam and was part of the Seabees in Quang Tri. He was honorably discharged in 1969, and in 1970, married Ann Tooker.
Cori Ann Henze was born in 1972 and Amy Rae Henze was born in 1973.
Early on, he started Boulder Millwork, Inc. Later on, he built custom homes, and then owned a motorcycle shop.
He always enjoyed spending time on the water with his family, driving across the country in his motorhome (as he would not fly), going camping and four wheeling in the mountains.
Terry is survived by his former wife, Ann Brandt, daughters Cori (Kevin) Piper and Amy Henze, and his grandchildren Jessica Neuerburg, Colton Piper and and Mackenzie Piper.
A memorial service celebrating Terry's life will be held April 29th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Crist Mortuary in Boulder at 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO 80301
