Born April 25, 1924, in Middlefield, OH, he was a son of the late Samuel and Sara Schrock Hostetler. He was raised in the Amish community and later joined the Mennonite Church. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and taking mission trips to South America. He was a skilled woodworker and also enjoyed his many fishing trips to Canada. He was a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his children, William Hostetler, of Venice, Thomas Hostetler, of NC, and Sara Hostetler Mace, of Margate; a sister, Sara Kurtz, of Orlando, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Manasota Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Manasota Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
