Born December 8, 1941 in Charleston, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James and Beulah Vance Horton.
Betsy loved golf, and was an LPGA member at Peridia Golf and Country Club. She also enjoyed playing bingo, poker, and playing cards at the Sarasota Kennel Club.
Survivors also include her daughter Kathy Hendrixson of Bradenton, her son Steven Myers and wife Lisa of Venice, sisters Jean Thompson and Gail Leach and her husband Butch, both of Charleston, West Virginia, and by 6 grandchildren--Crystal, Amanda, Michelle, Trista, Linsey, and Emily, and 7 great-grandchildren--Jeffrey David, Jaydis, David, Dominic, Adrianna, Colton, and Kaleb.
The family will receive friends from 2–4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Manasota Memorial Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted following the visitation at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
