

He was born in Pilot Mountain, NC. to Robert Jessup and Hallie Sawyers on October 14th, 1952. He attended Mount Airy High School and graduated in 1970. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971.
After dedicating 20 years of his life to the U.S. Army, he retired in 1991. Following his successful military career, he embarked on various successful business adventures.
After moving to Sarasota, FL. in 1997, he attended the University of Southern Florida receiving a B.A. degree in Criminology.
He enjoyed music, traveling, and German food. During his life, he received a number of awards, honors, and accolades. He was also known for his contributions to the underprivileged juveniles and those less fortunate in Sarasota county.
He is survived by his daughters Karisha Boney (Gregory) of Wallace, NC; LaToya Jessup-Bell (Quentin) of Greensboro, NC; and Abbreyell Nunemaker (Joshua) of Arnold's Park, IA.

A host of nieces, nephews, and god-children.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lyla Jessup, parents Robert and Hallie Jessup, and brothers Cleveland and Clinton Jessup.
Memorial services will be held at Robert Toale & Sons at Manasota Memorial Park on February 21st, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
