

Cynthia Anne Bellacosa of Heritage Harbor, Bradenton Florida passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2026. She was born on September 9, 1946 in Syracuse New York to Rita C. Burke and Robert M. Burke. Cindy passed due to a fourteen year battle with cancer and a recent stroke.
Cindy graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset New York in 1964 and The College of St. Elizabeth in Covent Station New Jersey in 1968. She was a long-time resident of Selden New York before moving with her husband to Florida in 2003. Cindy was a career grade school and pre-school teacher who was most recently an instructor at Kiddie Academies in New York and Florida.
She was known for deep and cherished friendships, a true concern for all those she knew and a passion for meeting new people. Cindy had been an active member of several Heritage Harbor groups including the Dining Out Club, the Community Activities Committee and the Community Charitable Fashion Show Committee. In addition, she played in the Stoneybrook Country Club Nine Hole Golf Group. Cindy loved watching and rooting for her four grandchildren as they played numerous sports plus she cheered for her favorite football teams: the University of Georgia “Dawgs” and the K.C. Chiefs. She was also a long suffering New York Jets fan.
Cindy is survived by her husband of forty-eight years Michael Bellacosa, her brother Robert K. Burke, her son Kevin To and her grandchildren Connor, Alexander, Lila and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her son Jim and her parents Rita and Bob Burke.
Cindy’s ashes will be interred at The Palms Memorial Park Sarasota during a private family service.
A celebration of life memorial reception will be held in the near future on a day and location to be announced by her husband.
