

Edward was born in Bradenton, FL, to Richard and Trilby Overstreet on November 26th, 1937. He went to Manatee High and received his GED in the military. He served his country and retired after 21 years of military service. He then went to work for an overseas construction company in the North Sea, Brown and Root out of Texas for 5 years. He then came home and started his own lawn service in 1984 and did that for many years.
He was a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and involved in many church activities. He loved landscaping, world history, and Bible history. He also was a Buccaneers fan.
Edward is preceded in death by his father, Richard, his mother, Trilby, and his brother, Donald.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his sister Shirley Schubel, his sons, Ed Overstreet II, and David Overstreet, his daughters, Cheryl Gioe (Chris), Julie Bower, Yvonne Burtner (James), Kimberly Culbreath, his nine grandchildren, his ten great grandchildren, his many nieces and nephews, and his extended family.
Celebration of Life will be held at Elwood Park Baptist Church on April 4th at 12:00PM. The pastors Tom Winter and Randall LaRoche will be officiating. The burial will follow at Robert Toale and Sons at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL, 34203. Visitation will be held at Elwood Park Baptist Church before the funeral service. Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home with be handling the funeral arrangements. If you are sending flowers for the service, please have them delivered to the funeral home.
