Eve Marlene Murphy passed away peacefully on January 6, 2016. Born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on July 10, 1919, Eve worked her entire adult life along with her deceased husband, Jerry, in their own retail jewelry businesses in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Missoula, Montana. They both retired to Sarasota in the early 1980’s. Eve enjoyed playing tennis, taking walks, playing bingo and card games. She continued to read the local newspaper and work the crossword puzzles up until a few months before her death.
Besides her husband Jerry, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Eve is survived by one brother, Ray Dix (Dody) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI., two sons, Jay and Robert Murphy (Colleen) of Woodstock, GA. and Plymouth, MN respectively and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will be no local services. Manasota Funeral Home in Bradenton is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
