

Eugene was born in Boyd County Kentucky on July 20th, 1935 to Green and Clara Adkins. After growing up in the hills of Kentucky he joined the US Air Force at the young age of 17 to serve our country during the Korean War as a Motor Mechanic and Air Force police officer. When he was honorably discharged he moved to the Tampa area where he met his wife and began a new life.
Eugene was the owner of a Diesel Mechanic Repair business in the Bradenton area for 30 plus years. He has passed down his knack and love for all things tools and engines to his sons and his daughters as well. Eugene enjoyed nothing more than to be able to lend his expertise of engine repair to all of those around him. He also enjoyed fishing, western movies and good ole' gospel music. He was a man of strong faith, believing in and knowing the hope and peace that is found in Jesus Christ. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Charlene Adkins, his 6 children, Mike Adkins, Jim Adkins, Donald Adkins, Karen Hardy, Kenneth Adkins and Kimberly Horton, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his two favorite Boston Terriers, Tank and Dottie. Visitation will be ,held on January 17, 2017 from 11:30am to 12:30pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:30pm.
