Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Mike (as family and friends know him) was a fun-loving man, with a heart as big as the sky. His profession was Culinary Arts.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean, his parents, Marjorie and Henry Murphy, daughter Shelly McCauley and sister Glenda Tyler. Survivors include his son/grandson, Christopher Lee Collins, daughters Henrietta Ealum and Dee Dee Collins, grandchildren Sherry Ealum, Stephan, Harley and Matthew, seven great-grandchildren, sister Julie Reid and brothers Ken Taylor and Gerald, nephew Nathan Reid, and special friend Sindie Schlageter.
Visitation will be from 6–8:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Manasota Memorial Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Avenue, East, in Bradenton, Florida.
