

Jerry was born in Lima, Ohio on April 01, 1942 to Richard Oran Thompson and Phyllis Sadie Bennett. He moved to FL his Jr. year and graduated in 1960 from Manatee High School. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force as an Integrated Avionics Component Technician and achieved the rank of Master Sargeant while serving in the United States and abroad. He was an Honor Graduate of the Air Force NCO and retired after 20 years of Honorable service. He was a skilled Electronics Technician for NCS and then transitioned back to Civil Service with the United States Postal Service, where he finally retired. He enjoyed many activities including golfing, motorcycling, bowling, fishing, photography and stamp collecting.
Jerry is survived by his wife, E. Elaine Chamberlain of Bradenton, FL. His Son: Richard O. (Jamie L.) Thompson of Putnam, CT; Daughters: Wybeka A. (Robert) Russo of Bowling Green, KY and Tatjana M. Thompson- (Paul) Robards of Gray, GA; Sister: Judy Lee (Jim) Ingram of Fitzgerald, GA.
Brother: James ‘Jim’ H. Thompon of Bradenton, FL. Grandchildren: Harper Thompson; John Smith, Shawn Smith, and Danielle Smith; Nathan (Stephanie) Robards and Sadie (Candace) Robards. Great-Grandchildren: Thomas Smith
Nephews: Troy Ingram; William Thompson; Lance Littler and Christopher Littler and Nieces: Stephanie (Rodney) Shearer; Cindy (Rodney) Norris; Shannon Littler, Jessica Littler and Hollin Littler.
Preceded in Death by his father and mother: Richard O. Thompson and Phyllis S. (John) Littler; Brothers: John C. Littler and Donald ‘Donnie’ L. Littler; Sister: Janice L. (Don) McQuen and Niece: Robin Thompson.
Jerry was one of those people who could make a friend in any room. He was funny, kind, smart, thoughtful and a great dancer. He would banter on about history and politics and loved a good political debate. Jerry came from a big family and loved his family and friends most of all. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Jerry did not want a funeral. We will have a Celebration of Life and will be spreading his ashes in New Albany, IN where his father is laid to rest, at a later date.
