John W. Walker, Sr. of Bradenton Florida, passed away Nov 26, 2019 after a long illness at the age of 76 with his family by his side. He was born in Wilmington Delaware, July 20, 1943.
John retired from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Wilmington, DE in 2004 after 27 years. He previously worked for Service Unlimited, Inc. and completed his apprenticeship and certification for HVAC. After many years in the field, he taught night courses to other HVAC students at Delcastle Technical School in the late 1990’s.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Thailand and then at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
John was a life long member of the NRA and after retiring to Florida in 2005, became a member of the Manatee Gun and Archery Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia, Daughter, Susan Marcinko, Son-in-law Joseph, Son, John Walker, Jr, Wife, Christine, Grandsons, Jeffrey Jarrell, Jake Walker, Ryan Walker and Granddaughter, Kate Walker. Also, Sister, Alice, Brother-in-law, Corbin Young and Sister-in-law, Kathy Hendrix-Walker.
John was preceded in death by his parents Earl M. and Pearl F. Walker and very recently, Brother, Earl M. Walker.
John will be remembered as a loving Husband, Dad, Pop Pop, Brother and friend. He will be missed always.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd. 72, Sarasota FL 34241 on January 17th, 2020 at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation may be made to Bradenton Hospice House, 2504 34th Ave. W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
