He was born in Canton, Illinois on December 2, 1951 and grew up in Lewistown, Illinois.
Dr. May graduated from University of Illinois with a Degree in Biochemistry, then moved on to receive his Medical Degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
He was married to
Mary Evelyn Thompson on May 8, 1990.
Dr. May worked as an Emergency Room Physician for 35 years with licenses in 5 different states. He was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church, The Eagle Scouts, a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and had a passion for cooking, painting, playing the guitar, the Grand Canyon, and Alaska.
He was survived by his wife, Mary, his son, Aaron, and his daughter Lauren; also survived by his stepchildren, Dawn McFarlane and Eric Salares; his grandchildren Michael and Alyssa, his brother Michael, twin brother Kenneth, his sister Jonelle, and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m., today at Manasota Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted following visitation at 12 p.m., at Manasota Funeral Home.
