Larry Lee Ellis

Although Larry worked as a dairy farmer, carpenter and groundskeeper, he began his most important job after retirement; he was an amazing Papa! Larry enjoyed being with his family and working on his farm. He was an avid supporter of Myakka Allstock 4-H and introduced his grandchildren to showing livestock. By his daughter being an FFA advisor, Larry was also able to spend countless hours assisting with several FFA programs and work on the school land labs; he truly enjoyed helping youth understand the importance of agriculture and hard work. In his spare time, Larry also loved to fish.

He is survived by four loving children, Carolyn Ellis Gilbert, Mary Ellis, William Ellis, and Larry Lee Ellis Jr.; sisters, Myrtle Ruth Manrique of Live Oak, and Joyce Ann Ricks of Wesley Chapel; twelve grandchildren, Austin Gilbert, Caitlyn Gilbert, Leigh Ann Gilbert, Madisyn Gilbert, Melissa Teal, Alicia Teal, Justin Hommel, Wesley Teal, Corey Ellis, Samantha Ellis, Alex Ellis, Logan O’Brien, and Liam Ellis; as well as four great grandchildren; Jayden Richardson, Jeffery Jean-Lewis, Tyshawn Cameron, and Terrance Smith Jr.

He is preceded in death by loving wife of thirty-three years, Pamela Leigh Ellis (Nelson) of Ohio; mother, Edna Mae White of Live Oak; father, Joseph Rutherford Ellis; as well as brothers, Wilburn Ray Ellis, Eugene Allen Ellis, and Robert Edward Ellis.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Larry Lee Ellis are suggested to his grandchildren’s 4-H and FFA livestock projects, in care of Myakka Family Worship; 33420 Singletary Road, Myakka City, FL 34251. On the memo line, please write: Livestock projects.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Myakka Family Worship; 33420 Singletary Road, Myakka City, FL 34251; Pastor Lynn Howell officiating.
