Born on January 4, 1951, in Sarasota, Florida, Margaret spent her entire life rooted in the community that shaped her. She built a long and dedicated career as a seamstress, working for the same company from the time she was young. Through those decades of careful stitches and steady hands, she cared for her family and formed lifelong friendships; relationships she cherished deeply.
Margaret’s life was marked by extraordinary resilience and an unwavering capacity to care for others. A survivor of breast cancer and a heart attack, she faced every hardship with determination and grace. Even as she navigated the challenges of dementia in her later years, her gentle spirit and enduring kindness remained. Her loving husband of 35 years, Glenn Bovinett, and her daughter, Raylene Gaines, stood faithfully by her side through every season, caring for her with quiet dedication.
Compassion was at the core of who Margaret was. She devoted herself to those she loved by caring for her 91-year-old mother during her final years, then her brother, Richard, through a seven-year cancer battle asking nothing in return.
One of the greatest joys of Margaret’s life was becoming a mother. She poured her heart into raising her adopted daughter, Raylene, whose presence illuminated her world. Margaret embraced motherhood as the gift she had longed for, extending that love to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the same devotion.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Burl Blanton and Bernadine “Bunny” Ellison; a daughter Rachel Lynn Bovinett; a granddaughter Natalia Lynn Bovinett; and her brothers Richard Daryl Blanton and Mark Warren Blanton.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Glenn Bovinett; her daughters Raylene Gaines and Lola Atkinson (husband James); her brother Kenneth Burl Blanton Jr.; her six grandchildren Austin, Shane, Dalton, Logan, Nathan, and Cayley; and her four great-grandchildren.
Margaret’s life was a testament to strength, loyalty, and love. She stitched together a legacy not only through her craft, but through every life she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
