

Marjorie J. Shelton, 95, of Bradenton, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 28, 2026. Born on July 14, 1930, in Ionia, Michigan, she spent most of her childhood in Pontiac, Michigan, graduating from Pontiac High School. She was the beloved daughter of Nelson and Grace Schaar.
Marjorie, affectionately known as Marge, built a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant in the utilities sector before retiring to Florida with her husband, Gordon. A natural leader and gifted organizer, she remained actively involved in her community, serving on her neighborhood HOA board and volunteering at Manatee Hospital in Bradenton.
Marge embraced life with an adventurous spirit and found joy in ballroom dancing, gardening, and traveling. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and willingness to help others, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon Shelton; her brother, Robert Schaar, and two of her children, Larry Armstrong and Deborah Lewis.
Marge is survived by her dear sisters, Norma Matich and Geraldine Palmer; her loving children, Terry (John) Heald of Lakeland, Florida, and Lori (Matthew) Goodman of Spokane, Washington; as well as 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
An interment of her ashes will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hills Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 24, 2026, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Andersonville Community Church, 10310 Andersonville Road, Davisburg, Michigan.
