Many memories from a time long gone, but what I need to share that Nancy was a friend who always had our backs, Larraine, Ruth, Mary, Margaret and the wise one, Fran who I'm sure was waiting at the pearly gates to meet Nancy, our little Head Start clique that would give each other our last if it was needed.  

One of the pleasures of Face Book is that friends can stay in contact although many have moved away.  Needless to say, we've followed one another, shared family photos of our loved ones, what ever we were doing and supported one another just as we did when we would sit at the dinner table and share what we had.  

Just as there is a gap in your family, our clique has another gap.  Sending love and prayers to you.  

I remember going to Nancy and Hutchs place after my van run. We would sit and talk and have coffee. When she moved to NC I really missed those chats. She was a wonderful and generous person. Love you Nancy. 

One of my favorite memories is the visits we made to her house. I would always come to visit her house and ask her what her daily pills were for. I would play with the dog and the toys, sometimes eating leaves of *edible* plants in the garden. She would always have extra Juicy Fruit gum for me to chew. I am very sad that my baby brother will never remember his amazing great-grandma.

Prayers  to her family......I think one thing I will always remember about  her was the way she loved to hum....as she was going about her  day.  It is always difficult  saying good bye to our mother.......I was able to know many of her children and grandchildren sending love to each one of you today!              Pamela Ferraro     Erie PA. I’ve known grandma as Nancy and just recently started calling her grandma. Her personality wasn’t something I got right away, but it definitely was something I grew to love. My mom was given to Grandma’s ex brother-in-law to raise as his own along with his wife. Grandma was definitely her own character. I’m proud of her activism and the fact that she didn’t carry hatred in her heart. If it wasn’t for my grandma fighting so hard in her life for equality my love for my fiancé would be a crime. Thank you grandma and I wish you could have met the girl I’m absolutely crazy for.

A part of my love for for as long as I can remember, Nancy was a great friend to my mom.  From the two of them carousing, playing cards and giving my dad a hard time.  Nancy was an amazing cook and I looked forward to seeing her recipes.   To her family, my sisters in heart, I'm so glad your were there for her and wish you all my deepest love and prayers.


My dear friend is out of pain and at rest. Thank you for for being a constant in my life.  We shared a passion for fighting wrongs in the world.  Some were fighting wrongs with each other.  Nancy  could fill a room with her presence and add joy to any occassion.   She was a friend who let you know she cared about you and she trusted me with her deepest thoughts. She loved her family and was happy each day for your care and forgiveness. I will miss our calls after politucal debates, her yummy relish for ham and hot dogs.  I will miss her shrug and sigh if I was off base. But I could not had a better cheerleader. I love you my friend  and I'm so glad for the lifetime of memories. And to her family, bless you all. She loved you so.


Omg I am so sorry for your (our) loss  she was the best mom anybody can have she will be missed like my brother tell him I said hey and miss him very much. RIP love you both.

Thoughts and prayers for the family of Nancy.
I remember Nancy as being a extension of my family. She was a dear friend to my Grandmother and I loved to see her when she would come out to Arizona for visits. I used to go to her farm in Sagertown and she had the most awesome garden, Nancy had a green thumb for sure. Nancy was always kind to me and always had a smile. I am going to miss her. 


In times of reflection, memories rise to the surface.   I remember riding in the car with her as she sang along with the songs on the radio.  I remember thinking that she had the most beautiful voice in the world.  I remember her and her friends making signs, in our living room,  for a civil rights march.  I remember her taking me to the theater to see "Snow White".  I remember her taking me with her and my older sisters to Girl Scout outings, even though I was only a "Brownie".   Although we didn't always see eye to eye,  we always found a way back to a better place. She instilled in me a love of the arts and a fierce passion to fight for what is right.  The memory of the peaceful look on her face, when my sister and I took her out in the fresh air and sunshine the day before her passing, will be forever in my heart.  Love you mom, RIP (Rest in Paradise)

Nancy, was a loving, caring Grandmother and Mother. she had a beautiful soul. Prayers for her family and friends.

My mother will always be in my heart. She has formed me into an independent woman. I will always treasure my last days with her and am forever grateful that she chose to be near me. RIP Mom - you earned it.
