Over several years Steven searched for his path and purpose in life and struggled to find what truly enriched his soul. Though while on that journey and maybe not realized, he touched many lives along the way, and we were fortunate and blessed to have been part of that.
In his youth he was the scrappy kid on the block who kept his parents running in circles all the while laughing at his antics. He was an avid lover of sports of all kinds, from his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, to basketball, fishing, and golf, additionally had excelled in high school sport participation. He traveled across the four corners of the country by car, exploring and taking in the beauty that it held. Reading was one of his greatest pleasures, books were always the perfect gift from a wide range of subjects, and he could speak intelligently on just about any topic or current event. Even in this digital age he still loved reading all sections of the newspaper, of course starting from the back with the sports section first. Most of his career was spent in customer service and hard work was something that he never shied away from, even after losing his leg to amputation, he continued to show up and get the job done.
His heart may have been troubled beyond what others could heal, but his kindness towards those he loved and those he did not know personally never wavered, from the simplest of gestures, to giving when not asked. The sadness and hole left in our family and to this world is great, but our memories of our time with him will carry on.
Steven was born on August 8, 1969 in Darby, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his mother Maureen Tallon, his father Paul Cassidy, brother Michael Cassidy, sisters Theresa Cassidy and Jeanine (Robert) Greer, niece Elyse Greer, nephew Miles Greer, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved him immensely. He is predeceased in death by his grandparents Alba and Bill Hada, William Cassidy, and James and Veronica Tallon.
