Anyone who worked for Steve was blessed with his integrity,  support and guidance.  He  truly cared about those that worked for him.  Rest in paradise dear friend.  My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, daughter and grandchildren,  as they were the most important thing in his life. 

Great man best warden I have ever worked for lots of love and respect Steve well all wise be a fond memory and friend  until we meet again on the other side. I was a young nurse for most of the time I knew Steve, he was already an associate warden I think or maybe a CDW.  I had a contract nurse who was supposed to  have given him a TB test but ended up giving him tetanus under the skin.  Damn thing swelled up so big and red you would have thought he was ground zero for TB!  I had to explain to him what happened and, me still being a little afraid of Steve, approached with caution.  He ended up taking the news far better than expected, I never really got to know Steve other than the last few years on Facebook but I always remembered how understanding he was.  A truly good man.

I absolutely enjoyed working for Steve during my tenure at DVI. He was a mentor and a leader who I respected. We did not always agree... but he never held a grudge. A smart man who listened well. He is greatly missed here on earth. However, he is in Heaven in peace. God bless your soul my friend... : - )

Steve, It was an honor and a privilege to know and work with you. I will never forget the days in K Wing and the things I learned from you and others. I feel my success in one of the most difficult jobs ever was due in part to you and others like you.  Thank you.
