

Thomas F. Widmann passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the age of 70 after a brief illness. Tom was born in Newark, NJ. He was the second born of six children to Fred and Jeanne Widmann. He formerly had lived in Hillside, Chatham Township and Kendall Park, NJ. He moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2002.
He graduated from Chatham Township High School in 1971 and attended the County College of Morris. Throughout his life he worked in retail in Sears, Sterns and Macy’s department stores. Up until his passing, Tom had been a school crossing guard at the corner of State Road 70 and River Club in Bradenton for seven years. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, listening to music from the 1950’s and 1960’s, doing jigsaw puzzles, and watching most sports, especially the New York Yankees.
He was an active member of Living Lord Lutheran Church where he sang in the Praise band.
Tom will be forever remembered as the loving brother of Wayne and his wife Cheri of Jackson, Michigan, Nancy Duffy of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Roy and his wife Rhonda of Rogers, Arkansas, Carolyn Greendonner of Bradenton, Florida and Heidi and her husband Chris Smith of Summit, New Jersey.
He was the cherished uncle of Bonney, Katie, Josh, Nikki and Abby. He also leaves behind his beloved 13 year old rescue dog, Brandon. Over his lifetime, Tom adopted many rescue dogs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Contributions in his memory can be made to the Humane Society, any local animal shelter or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 1 PM at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 11107 Palmbrush Trail, Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Final interment will be at a later date in Chatham, New Jersey.
