William Buel Case Jr.

William "Bill" Buel Case Jr., 78, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born December 18, 1946, in Mississippi, Bill grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. He served proudly in the United States Navy and went on to graduate from Auburn University.

Bill dedicated his entire career to the State of Tennessee as an accountant for the Comptroller's Office, where he was respected for his integrity and commitment.

He was married for 35 years to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Case. Together, they raised two daughters, Christina Bozenka and Rebecca Case, and later welcomed three beloved grandchildren: William Carter Jones, Sarah Elizabeth Douglass, and Zoe Renée Douglass.

Bill's life was full of simple joys — fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was known for his humor, his kindness, and his habit of breaking into song — most often belting out his beloved Auburn fight song, "War Eagle, fly down the field."

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Case; his parents, Francis and Bill Case; and his sister, Jan White Brockman. He is survived by his brother, Dale Case, and by the daughters and grandchildren who were the joy of his life.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to their care team and hospice and memory care teams for their exceptional compassion and support.
