He was born in Jamaica, NY in 1939 and graduated from Clarkson College with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1965. That is where he met his “LUV” of 53 years, his wife Pauline R. Seaman.
Bill furthered his career at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Virginia Military Institute, as an educator. He moved with his family in 1977 to Toms River, New Jersey and retired after more than 25 years at the Ocean County Utilities Authority.
William otherwise known by his loved ones as “DEE DEE” was an avid tennis player, loved writing computer programs, solving puzzles, and fixing absolutely everything the rest of us had broken! He could be found donning a yellow polo shirt with an infectious smile and in his absolute glory with his toes in the sand and watching stunning sunsets over shining seas.
He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Toms River, NJ and The Church of the Annunciation in Holmes Beach, Florida. He loved singing in the choir. In fact, practicing his music resulted in him receiving the nickname, “DEE DEE”. An adoring grandfather and loving husband, DEE DEE, would do absolutely anything for anyone.
He is predeceased by his parents, William and Alice Seaman and a grandson.
William is survived by his “LUV” Pauline R. Seaman. Also by his sister Barbara Taranto of Toms River, NJ and Robert “Bob” Seaman of Garden City, NY. as well as his loving nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a son, Arthur Seaman of Ft. Meyers, Fl and a daughter, Martha “Marti” Willis of E. Stroudsburg, PA along with his adored grandchildren, John William, Alison Ann, and Ana Paulina.
At his request a memorial service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association https://donatenow.heart.org
We wish to thank all of Bill’s family and friends for their immense love and support!
