Robert was born and raised in Roselle, NJ; he moved to Branchville in 1976. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. Robert was a Shop Instructor at Willowglen Academy for many years prior to his retirement in 2015.
After retirement, Bob remained very active with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being present for all their activities and accomplishments. His love for his family was clear to anyone who had the pleasure to know him.
Bob was a member of the Branchville Hose Company and the High Point Board of Education. He coached baseball and softball for many years..
Robert was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Elizabeth (Lambright) Acker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Bonnie Acker; his son, Ross Acker and wife, Melissa; his daughter, Beth Hoadley and husband, Jonathon; and his grandchildren, Broderick, Isabella, Owen, Ally and Annie.
Memorial Services will be held on October 5, 2024 from 10am to 12pm with a time of remembrance at 12 noon from the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ.
