I only met Senior Oliver guy when I knew my buddy Mike his son.

The family were always jovial polite people and they had an affinity of keeping brisk iced tea for Mike when he'd throw his wrenches in the woods or used or faulty alternators from his grand spams.  I miss my friend Mike I hope he is able to keep the door open for his grieving but close the door too when he is healed.

Love you Mike as a racing buddy...but the Gillan's of Stillwater were my first racing subordinate family...I hope your family...all of them will cherish the memories you have.

I met Mr. Russell Oliver in the mid-1990s while dating his son Michael during my high school and college years. I to remember the large Halloween displays in the front yard, That were amazing. 
Every night he was always sitting on the couch reading with the TV on and Colleen was right by his side. I remember watching TV shows from science fiction to medical shows to rodeos and many more. 
I learned so much from him about the US Postal Service, and what it takes to be an excellent mail carrier. His sense of humor was unforgettable. He was always making me laugh or surprising me with a wise crack.  At the time, I didn’t realize the wonderful influences that Russell and Colleen were in my life. Whether he was fishing in the lake, fixing a car, or checking on the outdoor animals, I could always learn some thing and enjoyed spending time with him.
I only got to meet his grand children when they were very young, but I’m sure he was a wonderful grandfather. He was a great “father figure” to me. This respectable gentleman will be greatly missed by many people. My deepest sympathies go out to Colleen, Michael, and the extended family. 

I am going to miss Russell , been friends with Russell and his wife Colleen for many years now. And, i have to see, i've not ever met a nicer fellow than Russell.  He had a dry sense of humor, which I Always enjoyed and His love of Books was immeasurable.  My first memory of meeting Russell , I remember telling him he looked like my favorite Actor Martin Sheen, and that got a real chuckle out of Russell.  And, at Halloween time , my Children and Grandchildren LOVED Russell and Colleen's Fantastic and Detailed Halloween display of Ghosts and ghouls and  skeletons and scary creatures.  The whole neighborhood and community by Russell Enjoyed that every year!! He and Colleen went put alot of loving work into their Halloween Display...ANd it was one for the Memory Books!  Russell's Granddaughter Bella grew up having a a special love of books herself just like her POP- Russell.  She shared with me once how much she loved to read with Pop when everyone else was out shopping , because she enjoyed the quiet of his company, as they shared their favorite pastime together.  Remembering the photos taken of prized fish caught by the lake with his son; the memory of  Russell 's Great love of his TWO Grandchildren --who were Always the Apple of his Eye and you just couldn't help but notice it--Oh, how he loved Isabella and Anthony, and beamed with pride when he spoke of them.  Russell will always be a special memory in my heart--not often do you meet a person as kind  as Russell was to everyone he met. I'm so 
glad we met Russell, you  were a very favorite part of my life.  I will miss you  very much.  Sending my love and Condolences to Colleen, his wife of many years. They knew each other since school days , That's something for the Record Book...and what a special relationship they had all thru the years.
