Thomas "Tom" Edward Sudol, a hard-working and dedicated individual, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 8, 1938, in Morristown, New Jersey, Tom was raised in Whippany, New Jersey. He graduated from Essex County Vocational School and voluntarily enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1962. After his military service, Tom worked as a cabinet maker for Morristown Memorial Plant and Engineering from 1974 until his retirement in 2000.
Tom was married to his beloved wife, Joan Sudol, for 51 years. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he cherished spending time with his grandsons, Sebastian and Francisco Trejos. Tom is survived by his son, Tommy Sudol, and daughter, Linda Sudol (Mainor Trejos). He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Michael and Doris (Payack) Sudol, his son, Neil J. Sudol, and his cousin, Melissa Glackin. He leaves behind cousins, Kathy Christie and Patty Glackin, and his niece, Carol DeRitter (David).
Tom was an avid fan of railroads and model trains. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, designing timeless pieces that are both functional and pleasing to the eye. He found peace in nature and loved fly fishing. Tom was also an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C.C. for many years.
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, 209 US-206, Branchville, NJ. Entombment will follow Mass in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, Woodside Ave (US-206), Newton, NJ.
