Carrie, one of five siblings, was born on June 9th, 1934 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to the late Edward T. Hendricks and Gertrude (Lytle) Hendricks. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Steubenville, Ohio where she was educated in the Steubenville City School system. Upon graduation from Steubenville High School, Carrie traveled to East Orange, New Jersey to further her education and seek employment opportunities. There, she married the love of life Dallas S. Anderson whom she met as a teen while vacationing in Halifax, Virginia. The couple married on August 22, 1953 and spent 59 years together in holy matrimony. She worked as a Travel Agent because of her love of traveling. But most of all, she reveled in spending time with her granddaughter, Danielle, whom she lovingly nourished and helped care for throughout her childhood.
After the death of her husband, Carrie moved to the Nashville area in 2015 to be near her daughter, Cynthia. Carrie never met a stranger and would engage in conversation with everyone she met. She was a five-year breast survivor and a member of the Blue Bird Cancer Retreat Society, where she made many new friends and was exposed to new activities and experiences such as camping, painting, exercising and acting.
