Born October 24, 1941 in San Francisco, CA and passed away at the hospital surrounded by her loved ones on December 25, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vic Garnett, daughter Christina Rohrer-Ederer and Troy Ederer, grandchildren Spencer Rohrer and Alyssa Rohrer, brother, Vince and Bruna Ippolito and brother, Carmine and Sue Ippolito along with many nieces and nephews.
She had a smile that would light up a room, always smiling and laughing, never had a bad word to say about anyone and she was the best friend you didn’t know you needed. She loved being a part of her community especially when it was BINGO time and loved to travel on cruises with her friends and family. She was an avid art collector and her home was filled with art on every wall. She was a kind soul, loved to be around her grandchildren, as she said they kept her young, and she was their biggest cheerleader and supporter. She loved unconditionally and lived life to the fullest. One of her favorite things to do was sing and dance and she didn’t realize how beautiful of a voice she had, just like her mom, Madeline.
There will not be a day that goes by that she will not be remembered and if she were to say one thing to us and everyone, this poem by Helen Lowrie Marshall entitled, “Afterglow” best fits what she would say.
“I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.”
Sending all our love to heaven; until we meet again. We love you!
