My heartfelt condolences to Billie's family. My dad Dewel Morgan knew her well. She was my Sunday School teacher at the Methodist Church way back in the late 50's early 60's. Farewell Billie.

How many envelopes with the Fortner return address label have blessed my mailbox I can not count. With each came a sweet moment of JOY in knowing I had been thought of once more. Billie is a very special angel for so many people; and I suspect she will continue to be there for all of her family and friends. Billie was one of the first friends my Mother and I met at BCUMC.  Her smile, her strength, and her compassion never failed.  To Randy and Cliff--my deepest sympathy.  May the memories always bring you smiles.

A quiet, confident, caring presence, Billie's work and fellowship through church, music, theater and community we remember with love, admiration, and gratitude. And she never forgot our anniversary, even when we did.

Billie was one of the most amazing women I have ever known.  For the 10 years I have been with her grandson Brian......she was a grandmother to me!  I treasure all the long talks we had where she always made sure to tell me how proud she was of Brian & I and of the family that we have made!  I will miss her gentle words of wisdom and the sound of her kind voice!  Grandma Billie you will forever live on inside of our hearts.......we all love you to the moon and back!

Billie was one of the most gentle and kind souls that I have known. My family will miss the birthday, anniversary and Christmas cards she never failed to send (as well as the random newspaper clippings) and the genuine greeting we got from her at church.  Prayers for Cliff and Randy and all of Billie's family. She was a wonderful woman.

Billie was truly a wonderful and caring person.  Though our family only knew her a short time she made us feel welcomed and loved.  She will always be remembered in our hearts.

Billie was a secret pal to our children for a Christmas years ago and never stopped making a presence in their lives. The week she passed, she sent Dan a note saying she read his book and loved it. She would cut out pictures of us that appeared in the paper and mail to us and never missed our birthdays or anniversary.  We will miss her warmth and kindness but will never forget her. Mrs. Fortner had such a gentleness about her. Always helpful when I went into the office for a question at LUHS. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Billie was very kind, caring and wonderful! I am very fortunate to have known her! She will be greatly missed!

Billie looked for the best in people. Those who encountered Billie felt loved and accepted. She was one of the "glue people" who hold congregations and communities together.  I was blessed to be her pastor.

Billie was such a giving, loving, nurturing person. I admired her for the many ways she touched peoples lives. God Bless you Billie, the peace of God is with you now.

I will miss Billie SO much!  she was always so kind to me and my family, like a mom, always makihg sure to come and give me a hug. Billie I know you are watching over me :). When I play my flute, I will always think of you and your kind notes :)  my love and prayers to her family.

Billie was a classmate and an old and dear friend. I'll always remember and miss her. Indeed, she was special.

Billie was a very dear friend of mine in the choir. She was always arranging the music, making sure you felt welcome and had a robe that fit you, and giving us all individual presents at Christmas to all members of the choir. We will miss her voice, her smile, and her hugs!

Billie Fortner was truly an angel.  A rare individual whose presence was felt by those who were blessed by her presence. She was an inspiration to all of us who grew up in the community of Brentwood.  Having known her and her family all of my life, I deeply and sincerely express my condolences to Cliff, Michael, Randy and especially Rick.  God bless you all.

Mrs. Fornter was one of my "Guardian Angels".  Twenty years ago when I was undergoing chemo and radiation treatments for cancer, she and Jo Merritt (both from my church) sent me cards EVERY week  to be supportive and encouraging.  The tradition continued for many years.  Over the last couple years, I returned the favor and sent her cards when her health began to fail.  She was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have had the pleasure of knowing.  I will miss her dearly and know that the angels are singing better with her in their choir now.  My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Cliff, and her sons:  Randy, Michael and Rick.  RIP my dear friend.

Billie was such an important presence in the life of my family, as we three kids grew up in East County and went to LUHS. My mother spoke of her often with the most glowing words of profound respect and gratefulness. Billie was a wonderful lady. I have a commitment out of state and am not able to make the service. My prayers are with the Fortner family.  I have always thought of her with fondness.  Mrs. Fortner and Mrs. Ackerman were huge influences in my life.

Clifford, Michael, Randy and Rick, my deepest heart felt sympathy to you in the passing of your wife and mother. She will be missed by all whose lives  she touched. I will miss hearing her beautiful voice and seeing her infectious smile but more than that, the way she always gave words of wisdom and comfort. I was so sorry to hear of Billie's passing. She was always a good friend to the Nail family and always had a smile for everyone.

Billie and Mom are singing together again. Best Friends Forever reunited in Heaven. My heart is saddened, my soul rejoices. Billie was like a second mom to me. An aunt though not a relative by blood. Cliff, Michael, Randy & Rick, you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
