My sweet and dear Eddie it's been six years and I miss you so much.  I still ride by the house that we were in when you took your last breath.  It seems like just today.    I'm trying to live my life whereas we will be united togather with the Lord God.   Until then RIP.  💞💞💞🙏🏽


I was a yoga student of Eddie.  All I can say is that I miss her everyday.  I continue to search for a yoga teacher that teaches similar to Eddie , and that person just does not exist.

Eddie, was our light that shone so brightly upon us -- encouraging us to listen to our bodies, but knowing that we would get there.  Her positive narrative resonates with me everytime I attempt to do my yoga session at home.

She is missed,  We truly loved her, and I thank her for all the beauty and strength and encouragement she so freely gave to us all.

Like many people at Detroit Unity Temple, I attended Yoga classes offered by Eddie.  She was always so positive and helpful.  I loved and admired her. I often told her that "when I grow up" I wanted to be just like her, although I am only a few years her junior.  Her loving, caring attitude will be greatly missed. I am so sorry to learn of Eddy's passing. My wife and I studied yoga with her at unity Temple in Detroit in the mid to late 90s. Eddie always called my wife her "ballerina".She  was an inspiration to so many of us that studied with her.  She will truly be missed. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Eddie M. Pierce a women of elegance, of grace and Truth. She reflected God's Glory and lived it each and every moment of her life. For Francine and myself she was a God sent light  that brought joy and Truth into our lives she made a difference in helping us to see the value of love. Rest in Peace

Eddie forever changed the way I looked at the world.  She gave me lasting glimpses through her clear eye of optimism; she turned my view upside down with yoga inversions and somehow brought everything into focus.  And she extended her legacy by raising a fantastic daughter who took my narrow focus and widened it.  The joy of Eddie lives on in Armetta, who gives good proof of a life well-lived.

Armetta, you have my love and prayers.  I like sooooooo many adored your mom.  She is definitely missed and she is and was deeply loved. Life is eternal and so-called death does not halt love in any way!

Eddie was one of the most beautiful, vibrant and healthy in spirit and body....that I have ever known.

Sorry to hear about Eddie's passing. I was a yoga student in the 90's and fellow neighbor in Greenacres. I loved Eddie and I so appreciate all the encouragement and knowledge she provided.

Your mother was full of grace. In that way, she will stay in my heart. Her encouraging words, the gentleness and kindness of her spirit are qualities that I so admired and that helped me in my time of loss. She was so smart and full of humor! Eddie, I remember when we were among the first female ushers at Detroit Unity Temple and how proud we were to become a part of the group. I will miss your wonderful smile and piercing eyes; I'm sure you're having a peaceful journey, know that you are missed.

Eddie you are my inspiration, you called me your  daughter, you are so loved and will be so terribly missed you are the angel of inspiration.

Eddie was my  FANTASTIC yoga teacher for 20+ years at Detroit Unity Temple.  She always had an upbeat, uplifting and positive attitude and, as an Optimist, she "made all of her friends feel that there is something in them."   I will truly miss you, Eddie.  Namaste.

Oh Eddie, I think of you often and always brag about you to my friends and colleagues.  You taught me how to care for myself, and that eating good, nourishing food along with exercise is the best thing anyone could do for one's self.  You taught me the importance of a sense of humor; how to age, not just gracefully, but energetically.  I was proud that you were my yoga instructor...that you didn't limit yourself and buy into ageism. Yes, you taught me many things...most importantly, you taught me how to breathe.  I dearly miss you.   I always remember you saying "Fantastic!" Well, it was fantastic knowing you.

What a wonderful and lovely woman.  One of the first women I met when I started attending the Temple back in 1975.  Thank you Eddie for being one of the special people i was fortunate to share with, I know you're sitting with the Angels and you're at peace.

Eddie helped me to fulfill a dream of one day standing on my head.  I took her yoga class at Detroit Unity Temple back in the 80's. She was very patient  and encouraging with all her students.  Eddie made each of us feel that we were her favorite student.  On the day that I finally stood on my head for 15 seconds, Eddie yelled "YES" and the class clapped! She was a lady with a lot of class.  She was an Optimist Club member and lived up to the principles of the organization.  I will cherish her love, her positive attitude, and her youthful disposition.

We expressed our sincere condolences to the family and send Loving, Uplifting and Peaceful prayers.   Life is so precious. Eddie was a person you look forward to seeing and talking to.  She embodied the Unity Truth Principles.  Eddie helped and uplifted many, she was an Angel and a She-roe.  We are grateful and blessed to have known Eddie and I served with her on the Usher Board at Detroit Unity Temple for over 20 years.  Know that the legacy of Eddie is alive and well in the many she touched and helped.
